If you're unable to disable the outdoor siren from the Boundary app or at the hub, don't worry it will automatically stop after 15 minutes. If you have ear defenders and a ladder, you can also open the lid on the siren and remove a battery.
Another thing to try is to tap the tamper switch three times to regain the connection.
Why does this happen?
When the siren sounds it draws a large amount of power from the battery and the internal motherboard within the siren. This can sometimes mean the siren doesn't receive the signal to stop sounding as it uses too much power if the siren is on the edge of range.
You can also try sending another siren test request from the app or the hub as this often stops sounding the siren.
From the app
- Open the app and tap the arm/disarm button
- Slide the Slide to trigger Siren label for the panic alarm
From the hub
- Enter your PIN on the hub
- From the hub menu go to Tests > Warning Device
- Begin the test and then cancel again
Both of these methods will attempt to rejoin the siren to the hub and stop the sounding. If the siren is on the limit of range then an extender may be required or repositioning of the siren so you should contact our team for assistance.
If this issue happens with consistency, then please let us know so we can look into that for you.
