Plan limited feature
Note that key holder contacts are limited to Smart or Pro plan subscribers.
Having a key holder to manage your alarm whilst you are on holiday is a great way to feel secure and enjoy your time away without having to worry about the alarm going off with nobody noticing!
It's very simple to set up and will give you the extra peace of mind whilst you relax so here is what you need to do:
1) Check your plan
As the keyholder feature is only available on the Smart plan or above, you need to make sure you're on the right subscription level. You can change your subscription at any time you like even if it's only for a short period directly through the customer portal. More details about changing your plan can be found here.
2) Add a User
The next step is to make sure you have a user account other than yourself set up on the system. All plans support a minimum of two users and you can set them up as online (for people with access to the mobile app on a smartphone) or offline (for key fob access). You can add or remove users at any time, details for doing so can be found here.
3) Create a Keyholder
The last step is to turn that user into a keyholder. This is again managed through the app and you can also decide the order in which they should be contacted. Note that for all keyholders, you should make sure that they live within 20 minutes of your property so they can respond quickly should the alarm be activated. More details on keyholders are in this article.
All done! You can now rest easy whilst you're away that any alarm activations will be responded to!
