The Boundary system supports users within a series of access levels that have been designed to meet certain standards when being able to control your Boundary alarm. These levels are defined as the following:
- Owner - The owner is the first person to setup the system and cannot be deleted, they are the only users that can manage subscriptions. Owners can make changes to the Boundary alarm system and manage users.
- Admin User - An Admin user will have admin rights to the system. They will be able to access almost all features within the alarm system. You can always add additional admin users if you wish.
- Standard User - This level of user has limited access to the system. They are able to arm or disarm the system with a PIN code, key fob or through the mobile app but they are unable to make any changes to the system.
- Basic User - This is just the same as a Standard User but they don't have access to the mobile app. This is handy for people who don't have smartphones or people you want to arm/disarm at the hub only.
User access
You should take care when adding new users to your Boundary alarm that you only give them the permissions they need. In the vast majority of cases, Standard access is all that is required as the ability to arm/disarm the alarm safely will be more than enough. We don't recommend that all users within a household are added as admin users.
A note for monitored installations
Access is normally restricted due to the fact that every area of your system is professionally monitored and changes can only be carried out by Boundary engineers to ensure your installation meets the standards required for police response.
