Each user on your Boundary alarm system can be assigned to a key fob to arm or disarm the alarm system. You can find out more about key fobs and how they work here: Introduction to the Boundary Key Fob
Key fobs are managed through the mobile application and can be easily assigned to users as well as disabled remotely at any time.
Viewing Existing Key Fobs
To view a list of the existing key fobs on your Boundary system:
- Login to the Boundary mobile app on your phone
- Once logged in, go to Settings > Keyfobs
- A list of the currently active keyfobs is then displayed
- Tapping any of the key fobs will display:
- The assigned user
- The key fob status
Adding a new key fob
User Management
Before you can add a new key fob to the system you need to ensure the user has been created and the appropriate access level granted.
To add a new key fob to the system:
- First, make sure the user has been created in the Boundary system
- Login to the Boundary app on your phone
- Go to Settings > User > The user you wish to assign the fob to
- The hub display will then show it is ready to pair a new fob as shown:
- Tap the fob you wish to pair to the bottom middle of the hub and the fob is then assigned to that user.
Removing a key fob
If a key fob is lost or stolen or you have a couple of options. To edit the user and set it to unassigned, follow the instructions above. To disable the key fob:
- Login to the Boundary app on your phone
- Goto Settings > Keyfobs
- Tap the user you wish to edit
- Answer Yes to unpair the fob from that user
